Which instruments can you rent for a day or a week?

Kalman Music Lessons offers online day and week bookings for alto saxophone, flute, clarinet, trumpet, and guitar in NYC. Keyboards, bass, tenor saxophones, and soprano saxophones are monthly rentals arranged directly with our team. The starting rates and booking links below show the eligible short-term collection.

A short rental can suit a rehearsal, a visit to New York, or a temporary replacement for your usual instrument. It still needs a little planning: confirm the model, the dates, and what equipment you will need around it. The rental page and calendar are the source for the instrument you can actually book.

Compare the total, including the one-time fee

Daily and weekly rentals have a one-time short-term fee in addition to the rental rate. It is charged once for the booking, not once per day. Delivery, if selected, adds a separate cost. Monthly rentals do not have the short-term fee.

Use the calendar to compare the full cost for your dates. A daily headline price alone is not a complete quote. When a longer booking costs less, the booking page offers that option for you to choose; check the resulting return date before accepting it.

If you are deciding between two terms, compare these four things:

  1. The total instrument rental charge, including the short-term fee.
  2. The pickup or delivery arrangement and its cost.
  3. The date and time you can realistically return the instrument.
  4. Any equipment you still need for the session, such as an amplifier or suitable stand.

Plan around the handover, not just the performance

A session on Saturday may require collecting the instrument on Friday so you can check it and rehearse. Book the time you need it in your hands, including that preparation period. An instrument booked for a later handover is not reserved for earlier use.

Free pickup is available at our East Village location by arrangement. Online checkout shows open slots. Same-day pickup is possible only when an instrument and time are available. Rental delivery costs $25 anywhere in the five boroughs, with available windows starting the next day. New Jersey delivery is arranged directly and costs $35.

For a visiting player, confirm who can receive a delivery and whether your accommodation permits it. For a studio session, ask the room before arranging delivery there. See the pickup and delivery guide for the handover and return details.

Check that the rental matches the part

Online saxophone booking is for alto, so a tenor part needs a direct enquiry. Guitar bookings need the correct acoustic, classical, or electric option. Bring the model requirement from a teacher or bandleader into the decision before choosing dates.

Check the instrument page’s included equipment list against what the room supplies. Do not assume an instrument rental includes an entire amplifier or backline setup. If one specific feature is essential, ask the team to confirm it.

What if the session moves or you need more time?

Contact us before the rental is due back if you need an extension. Do not assume the instrument will be free for extra dates; another booking may follow yours. Keep the case and supplied accessories together, and use the agreed return arrangement.

If the dates are uncertain or the required instrument is not available online, ask about a rental with the details. A short enquiry is enough to start the conversation.
