We teach children and adults, including complete beginners, across Manhattan, most of Brooklyn, and Astoria, Long Island City and Ridgewood in Queens, plus at-home lessons in Westchester. We confirm a suitable teacher and available time for your address before booking.
Your first 30-minute lesson at home is $50. Ask about a teacher for your home.
How At-Home Lessons Work

You learn on the instrument you use between lessons. The teacher can help assess the seat, stand, sound and practice arrangement as well as the music itself. Prepare a usable instrument and enough room for both people; confirm any equipment questions before the visit.

Our at-home piano and guitar guide collection covers the Upper West Side, Upper East Side, Chelsea, Tribeca, Battery Park City, Park Slope, Gowanus, Bed-Stuy, Crown Heights, Williamsburg, Greenpoint and Sunset Park.
Each article has a different practical focus: choosing a child’s guitar, restarting piano, coordinating siblings’ practice, learning a song or setting up a digital instrument. These are home-visit service areas, not a list of studio addresses.

Kalman Music Lessons teaches piano, guitar, bass, drums, saxophone, clarinet, flute, trumpet, violin, cello, ukulele, voice and music theory. Confirm an appropriate teacher and equipment for your instrument and address.

Transparent Pricing
The first 30-minute at-home lesson is $50 in NYC and Westchester. Ongoing rates depend on location, duration and payment option:
- NYC at home, 30 minutes: $75 for a single lesson, $280 for four ($70 each), or $600 for ten ($60 each).
- Westchester at home, 30 minutes: $95 for a single lesson, $340 for four ($85 each), or $800 for ten ($80 each).
- Four-lesson packages expire in 90 days; ten-lesson packages in 120 days.

Are there music teachers in NYC who come to your apartment?
Yes. Kalman Music Lessons offers private home visits across Manhattan, most of Brooklyn, and Astoria, Long Island City and Ridgewood in Queens, plus Westchester. Tell us your instrument and location so we can confirm a teacher and schedule.
Do I need an instrument already?
You need a suitable instrument available for the lesson and a way to practice between visits. Discuss an existing instrument or rental question before booking; do not assume the teacher brings a student instrument each week. Voice lessons have different equipment needs.
Are home lessons better than studio lessons for children?
It depends on the child, the teacher and the available space. Home lessons remove the family’s trip to a studio and let the teacher assess the practice setup. A separate studio may help some students concentrate. A first lesson can help assess the fit.
What if I need to reschedule or cancel?
Check the current lesson policy and the terms of your purchase, then coordinate changes with the teacher. At-home teaching does not imply unlimited rescheduling or an automatic refund of a package.
Do you teach at home in Westchester?
Yes. Kalman Music Lessons offers at-home lessons in Westchester. The first 30-minute home lesson is $50; ongoing Westchester tuition has its own rate table. We do not have a Westchester studio.
