Our Teachers' Review
For students who prefer a traditional neck strap over a harness, this shorter-length option provides comfortable support with quality padding. The padded section sits at the back of the neck, cushioning the weight and preventing the strap from digging in during longer playing sessions.
The short length is designed for younger students or players of shorter stature who find standard-length straps too long even at their shortest adjustment. Having the right length strap ensures the saxophone sits at the correct height for proper embouchure and hand position.
Our teachers recommend trying both a harness and a neck strap to see which feels more comfortable for each individual student. Some players prefer the simplicity of a neck strap, while others benefit from the weight distribution of a harness. Either option is fine as long as the student can play comfortably and maintain good posture.
