Mouthpiece patches are a small but important accessory that every saxophone student should use. These thin, clear 0.35mm patches adhere to the top of the mouthpiece where the upper teeth rest, providing two key benefits: they protect the mouthpiece from tooth wear, and they provide a more comfortable, secure grip.
Without a patch, teeth gradually wear grooves into the mouthpiece, which can affect tone quality and eventually require replacement. The patch prevents this damage at a fraction of the cost. The added comfort also helps students maintain proper embouchure position during long practice sessions.
The 0.35mm clear patches are our standard recommendation for most students. They're thin enough to be barely noticeable while providing effective protection and comfort. Students who prefer more cushioning may want to try the thicker 0.80mm black patches instead.
