Our Teachers' Review
The Intermediate collection steps up the technical and musical demands significantly, featuring pieces that represent some of the most beloved works in the piano repertoire. Students at this level are playing music by Bach, Chopin, Debussy, and other masters in their original (or minimally simplified) form.
These are the pieces that make people fall in love with classical piano. The emotional depth, technical brilliance, and artistic sophistication of the music at this level is genuinely moving. Our teachers find that students who engage seriously with this repertoire often experience a deepening of their relationship with music.
The collection is carefully graded within the intermediate range, so students can progress from simpler to more demanding pieces as their skills develop. This makes it a book that lasts for an extended period — most students spend 1–2 years working through the repertoire at this level.
For students considering conservatory preparation, competition, or simply wanting to play at a high level for personal enjoyment, this collection provides an essential introduction to the standard piano literature.
