Our Teachers' Review
Level 3B completes the intermediate core of the Piano Adventures series. Students finishing this book have developed a comprehensive skill set that enables independent music-making — they can read confidently, play with expression, navigate multiple key signatures, and understand fundamental music theory.
The repertoire in 3B is genuinely rewarding. Students play arrangements of famous classical themes alongside contemporary pieces, and the musical sophistication allows for real artistic expression. Our teachers often use pieces from this level for studio recitals because they're impressive and enjoyable for audiences.
This is also where many students begin expressing strong preferences about what they want to play. We encourage this — it's a sign of developing musical identity. After completing 3B, students can confidently explore pop songbooks, classical collections, or jazz standards alongside their ongoing technical development.
The transition out of 3B is a natural moment to reassess goals and direction. Some students continue to Levels 4 and 5, while others shift to a more repertoire-focused curriculum. Both paths lead to continued growth.
