Our Teachers' Review
After completing the two Accelerated books, teens merge into the standard Piano Adventures series at Level 3A. This transition works remarkably well — the accelerated books have provided all the foundational skills needed to succeed at this level.
Level 3A introduces pedaling, more nuanced dynamics, and pieces that require real musical interpretation. For teens, this is often the level where piano goes from 'something I'm learning' to 'something I can actually do.' The pieces are impressive enough to play for friends and family, and the technical challenges keep things interesting.
Our teachers often supplement Level 3A with popular music arrangements at this point, since teens at the intermediate level can handle simplified versions of songs they know and love. This combination of structured method book work and motivating repertoire keeps the momentum going.
