Our Teachers' Review
Level 3A is a turning point in the Piano Adventures journey. This is where students cross into intermediate territory, and the music becomes noticeably more sophisticated. Pedaling, dynamic shading, and musical interpretation move from occasional considerations to central aspects of every piece.
Our teachers consider this level particularly important because it's where students develop artistic judgment. It's no longer enough to play the right notes at the right time — students must now consider how to shape a phrase, where to breathe musically, and what emotions they want to convey.
The technical demands also increase. Scales in multiple keys, arpeggios, and more complex hand coordination challenge students to maintain their practice discipline. We often recommend adding Hanon exercises at this point to support the increased technical requirements.
Students typically reach Level 3A after 2–3 years of consistent study. The commitment pays off — pieces at this level are impressive enough for school recitals, family performances, and building genuine musical confidence.
